Moskovchenko Leonid Vasilyevich

  • PhD in Technical Sciences specializing in vehicles control systems

From 1968 to 1990 he regularly worked at the Research Institute of Control Devices (RICD) as an engineer, leading engineer, laboratory chief, deputy chief designer. From 1980 to 1990 he directly participated in the development of stabilization systems for high-precision control devices in aero-space objects’ and ship-based ballistic missiles’. These systems passed ground tests and went into production. Most of these systems are currently in operational service and are used by the Russian armed forces.

Since 1991 he has been the general director and chief designer at Karat. Under his management, the organization is engaged in developing and manufacturing modern optical-electronic infrared imaging gyrostabilized systems for different military-oriented shipboard and aviation complexes. He is an author of more than 20 scientific works on specialized topics.

Has more than 40 patents for his inventions.

As I see it, my task in Karat is to create such a process so that on the one hand, the designers would have new and interesting tasks, on the other hand, the systems created by them would be of high quality and reliable during implementation and production and eventually would be in the service of Russian Armed Forces”.

We work in an industry, where quality is the main requirement demanded of our product by the customer. Severe operating conditions, improved failure tolerance, the need for immediate repair – these are all requirements for our products and stimulate us at Karat to constantly perfect our production methods. The selection of the providers, testing of incoming components, and selection of contractors are major factors. All these processes play an important role in the whole production process and demand constant attention and development”.
