Instrument TOI
TOI is an optical-electronic observation instrument for ships' radar antennas. The instrument is an additional back-up providing visual observation in the direction on the antennas directional diagram axis.
The instrument provides the following capabilities:
- imaging of objects located in the observation zone on a PC display;
- range finding to observed objects;
- visualization of objects in two fields of view of television cameras.
The instrument is inflexibly fastened to its radar so that the direction of the visor axis of TOI and the directional diagram axis of the antenna coincide. Stabilization of the device is executed by the antenna's stabilization means. TOI performs two main functions: it is a device for visual verification of the radar antenna data; it performs back-up functions in case the antenna is out of order.
